Read-a-thon Update #2

Posted by Caitie F on April 26, 2014

We had a nice walk and got some ice cream, but the reading part didn’t go so well. I started two books and decided I didn’t like them and took them off of my to-read list. At least I know now. I will read while dinner is cooking.

Reading right now: I am going to read a little of Cultures of War: Pearl Harbor / Hiroshima / 9-11 / Iraq by John W Dowe and when I have had enough non-fiction will grab a fun YA book.

Books finished: Every You, Every Me by David Levithan, three short stories from Pretty Monsters by Kelly Link

Pages read since last update: 391

Total pages read: 891

Total time spent reading: 6 hours 39 minutes

Snacks: Got ice cream while it was still nice out!

Nearly 900 pages! You’re doing great with your read-a-thon. Nonfiction mixed up with YA sounds like a great way to bring in the dinner hour. Have a great evening!

That’s the way I look at DNFs too–at least you know you won’t like them! The Readathon has a way of demanding you read only good books. 🙂 Hope you’re still rocking the ‘thon and enjoying your current book.

  3. Having a DNF during the readathon can be frustrating, but at least you know now. Keep up the good reading!
